Midnight tick-dragging at Oak Ridge
No questing seen in the tick gardens, but two I. scapularis nymphs dragged in the vegetation, and we spotted a worm snake on the way out.

Why we love Fort McCoy....
Gotta love Stonehenge....you never know what you will find there! Trap Phase 21 was exciting; we caught our first Western Fox Snake poking around one of the pitfall buckets. This guy was 44" long, male, and weighed 269g; by far, the largest snake we have caught yet.
This baby deer had been stashed in a safe place by its mom....right in the middle of our Array! Cute little thing, yes?

Fort McCoy May 2012
Just wrapping up our first trap phase of the season. Not too much activity, but we saw a few cool items. This robin was quite creative with the nesting location and this gray tree frog was hanging out in one of the pitfalls. I think he enjoyed the photo opportunity.
